Over 20 years ago, TechNet Communications (formerly GNR Communications) began specializing in commercial satellite, audio and visual, and master antenna systems installation and service based in Clarkston, Michigan.
Beginning in 1985 and throughout the early months of 1992…
GNR provided service and troubleshooting expertise for the hotel and motel pay per movie system operated by Comsat Video Enterprises. When Satellite Engineering Group was awarded a regional contract with Comsat Video, management requested GNR to service Comsat sites in the Michigan area. Also during this time period, GNR performed installation and service for Muzak, provider of satellite delivered music systems. Convergent Media Systems also utilized GNR’s experience to install and service satellite network systems for the corporate sector, beginning in 1990 in Michigan, and continuing for many years thereafter.
          In 1992-1993…
GNR worked with Channel News Network’s (now known as “CNN”) Checkout Channel to survey, coordinate installation, train and supervise crews as they rolled out the Checkout Channel (an early approach to in-store TV selling for grocery stores).
At the end of the Checkout Channel project in early 1993…
CNN hired GNR to maintain its Airport Network at the Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport. Services performed for CNN included maintenance of satellite receiving equipment, broadband distribution and audio/video systems at the DFW Airport. Airport passenger training was also included.
          From 1993 to 2003…
While based in Texas, GNR worked with a variety of clients including the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), American Airlines, United Service Source, DMX Music, Inc., United States Postal Service, On Command Video, DRD Enterprises, several Holiday Inn and Days Inn franchises, numerous independent hotels. One of these hotels included a 100 year old historic landmark hotel in downtown Fort Worth.
GNR also began specializing in work on commercial satellite/master antenna TV systems, recruiting install crews, and sales and design of complex solutions for lodging, apartment and public space(s) head end systems. TechNet currently has ongoing relationships with many of these clients.

              From 2003 through the present…
Now based in Colorado, TechNet has grown rapidly by expanding the locations it offers services and by utilizing a nationwide network of hand-picked contractors. TechNet focuses on education in new technologies, such as High Def TV, and is one of the few commercial dealers certified in installation and fine tuning High Def systems.
TechNet’s client base now includes the Casino, Gaming & Entertainment Sector and several Colorado-grown businesses. Aggressive strides are also being made to win new DirecTV customers – both commercial and now also residential.
While adding clientele and personnel are exciting, Technet is dedicated to creative design, quality work and affordable pricing.
